Heleen Wiemer (Ten Boer, 1978) lives in Amsterdam, where she studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (2002). She works within the field of drawing, writing, theatre and combinations of these different media. In both a light-hearted and dark, melancholic way, her work explores the untamable world we live in, and our human longing for some kind of grip. Next to her solo practice, Heleen collaborates with artists Richtje Reinsma and Roosmarijn Schoonewelle under the name of Het Harde Potlood (founded in 2006). Her work was shown at a.o. the Service Garage, Arti et Amicitiae and Theater Frascati in Amsterdam, Theater Zeebelt in Den Haag, Museum Jan Cunen in Oss, Museum Waterland in Purmerend and Kunstvereniging/Drawing Centre Diepenheim.
